Comprehensive Evaluations, Psychiatric Care & Professional Support
Sometimes the support you need goes beyond traditional therapy. You may be seeking answers about symptoms that have been affecting your daily life, wondering whether medication could be helpful, pursuing testing for yourself or your child, or needing professional documentation for school, housing, or disability-related services.
At The Psychology Lab, our providers offer a range of psychiatric and psychological services designed to help clients gain clarity, access appropriate care, and better understand their individual needs. You do not need to have everything figured out before contacting us.
Provider Services
Medication Management
Thoughtful Psychiatric Care Designed Around Your Needs
For some people, medication can be an important part of managing mental health symptoms. When symptoms such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, or other concerns begin to interfere with daily life, psychiatric medication may be considered as one component of a broader treatment plan.
Medication management begins with a comprehensive review of your concerns. Your provider may discuss your current symptoms, mental health history, previous treatment experiences, medications you have taken in the past, family history, lifestyle factors, and other information relevant to your care.
If medication is appropriate, your provider will discuss the treatment plan with you and answer questions about what the medication is intended to address. Ongoing care is an essential part of medication management. Follow-up appointments allow your provider to monitor your response, discuss any concerns, evaluate side effects, and make adjustments when clinically appropriate.
At The Psychology Lab, medication management is approached as a collaborative process centered on your health and treatment goals.
Psychological and Psychiatric Evaluations
A Clearer Understanding Is Often the First Step
When you are struggling with your mental health, it is not always easy to know exactly what is happening. Symptoms can overlap, change over time, or affect different areas of life in unexpected ways. A comprehensive psychiatric or psychological evaluation can help bring greater clarity to these experiences.
An evaluation provides time to discuss your concerns in greater depth with a qualified provider. Depending on the reason for your appointment, the process may include a review of current symptoms, personal history, family history, previous diagnoses, medical information, past treatment, medications, relationships, school or work experiences, and other factors that may be relevant.
An evaluation may result in recommendations for therapy, medication management, psychological testing, behavioral strategies, additional medical care, referrals, or other appropriate services. You do not need to know the diagnosis before scheduling - you simply need a place to begin.
Psychological and Educational Testing for School
Understand How Your Child Learns and What Support May Help
When a child or student is struggling at school, the reason is not always immediately clear. Psychological and educational testing can provide valuable information to help families and professionals better understand what may be contributing to those challenges.
Testing is designed to look beyond grades or a single classroom experience. A comprehensive evaluation can examine attention, executive functioning, learning and academic skills, cognitive abilities, memory, processing, emotional functioning, or behavioral concerns.
An important part of testing is recognizing strengths as well as challenges. After the evaluation is complete, the provider reviews the findings and explains them in understandable terms. Recommendations may address treatment, learning strategies, behavioral support, or potential educational accommodations when clinically appropriate.
ADHD Support
Move Beyond the Frustration of “Why Can't I Just Focus?”
ADHD can affect much more than attention. For children, adolescents, and adults, ADHD-related symptoms may influence organization, time management, task completion, impulse control, emotional regulation, school performance, work responsibilities, and relationships.
The Psychology Lab offers support for individuals who have already been diagnosed with ADHD, believe they may have ADHD, or are seeking help for persistent difficulties involving focus and executive functioning. The process may involve a clinical evaluation, psychological testing when appropriate, and careful consideration of other factors that could be contributing to your symptoms.
Depending on your needs, support may include therapy, behavioral strategies, executive functioning skills, psychological testing, medication evaluation, medication management, or coordination with other professionals.
Emotional Support Animal Evaluations
Professional Evaluation for Emotional Support Animal Recommendations
For many people, an animal provides companionship, comfort, routine, and an important sense of connection. For an individual with a qualifying mental or emotional health condition, an emotional support animal may also play a meaningful role in supporting their well-being.
The process begins with an individualized clinical assessment. An emotional support animal evaluation is not simply a request for a letter - a qualified provider must use professional judgment and determine whether the available clinical information supports a recommendation. An appointment does not automatically result in ESA documentation.
It is important to understand that emotional support animals and service animals are not the same. If you believe an emotional support animal may be an appropriate part of your mental health support, The Psychology Lab can help you begin with a professional evaluation.
Disability Services
Professional Evaluations and Documentation for Important Life Needs
Mental health symptoms can sometimes create significant challenges in everyday life. When these limitations substantially affect daily functioning, professional evaluation and documentation may be needed as part of a request for disability-related services or accommodations.
The Psychology Lab offers provider services that may help individuals document clinically relevant mental health concerns and the functional limitations associated with them. Providers can only provide opinions and documentation supported by an appropriate clinical evaluation. An appointment or evaluation does not guarantee approval for disability benefits, accommodations, or other requested services.
If you need professional mental health documentation as part of a disability-related request, The Psychology Lab can help you determine whether our services are appropriate for your situation.
The Right Support Starts With the Right Information
Whether you are seeking medication management, a psychiatric or psychological evaluation, school-related testing, ADHD support, an emotional support animal evaluation, or disability-related documentation, your care should be based on your individual circumstances.
